WORKER'S COMPENSATION

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION
As workers’ compensation injury treatment specialists, we know how to manage injuries and control losses, thus increasing employers’ productivity.  Our philosophy is to return patients back to work as soon as possible.  We do not write patients out of work; therefore, we empower employers to utilize restricted or limited duty, which as studies have shown, helps workers return to regular duty status much quicker.

We are the ONLY occupational health providers in the area to:

Employ a unique internal case management system, which enables our practice to closely monitor injuries in order to detect any problems early on thus reducing any possible lost time and saving employers any associated costs.
Provide 3 strategically placed locations to conveniently serve all of Hampton Roads.  Furthermore, as a convenience to our clients, we provide in-house, limited physical therapy and in-house pharmacy services.
COMMUNICATION & CASE MANAGEMENT
Doctor accessibility and communication are key factors!  Worknotes, detailing work status, are immediately faxed to employers once a patient is treated, and follow-up phone calls are given as well to immediately answer any questions.

To ensure loss control, if a patient is not better within 2 visits, the patient will be seen for the third visit by Dr. Baddar, who then acts as a “case manager.”   
* HIPAA regulations do not apply to workers’ comp. under VA Workers’ Comp. Law.

IN-HOUSE SERVICES
As a matter of convenience, we have an in-house Pharmacy.  Just in case a patient does need a prescription, we will provide them with their first bottle.  This saves time by preventing the patient from traveling to a pharmacy and waiting to get the prescription filled.  We also provide in-house Physical Therapy, again as a matter of convenience.

SPECIALIST REFERRALS
We have a select network of providers we refer to if a patient needs to see a specialist.  We refer only to specialists who have the same philosophy as we do:  return the patient back to work as soon as possible.  Also, even if a referral is made, we stay involved. 
                                                  
PANEL PROVIDERS
As workers’ compensation injury treatment providers, we participate with every major insurance carrier.   Furthermore, we are on hundreds of local and national employers’ Workers’ Comp. Panels as 1 of their top 3 providers.  According to Virginia’s Workers’ Compensation Law, any employer with more than 3 employees must provide a panel of at least 3 physicians for the injured employee to choose from to receive treatment.  In order for their medical costs to be covered, an employee must choose a physician from their company’s panel.  As an employer reading this, surely you are aware of the importance of utilizing doctors certified in occupational medicine to treat workers’ compensation injuries, as opposed to emergency room and general urgent care center doctors who are not familiar with RTW policies and OSHA logs. To list us as providers on your panel, you can contact one of our Client Services Representatives.  Futhermore, you may list Dr. Baddar on your panel as a second opinion specialist.  If ever the need should arise, you will be prepared.

Employers with less than 3 employees may voluntarily come under the Workers’ Compensation Act.  For more information, visit the VA Workers’ Compensation Commission’s website at www.vwc.state.va.us.

BILLING
Although bills are usually submitted directly to the company’s workers’ comp. insurance carrier, various billing options are available.
